One of my friends has a theory: that you can't simultaneously be a fan of Friends and The Simpsons. His theory is that both shows have opposite kinds of humor. He is a Simpsons fan, I'm a fan of both but I do understand what he means. Friends sense of humor was more obvious and set-up then joke. The Simpsons has a subtler kind of humor that marinates in your brain and then you laugh. Plus, The Simpsons is eternally quotable. "Linguo dead?"
