Lost Finale

Needless to say, if you haven't seen the series finale, do not read further. Okay, fair warning.

I liked it. I am actually fairly happy that there are still some puzzles to figure out even in the end. Like how Desmond's electromagnetism ability was tweaked into not jumping in time but jumping to the afterlife. Also, to all those people who think that the finale said the Island was purgatory and all the 815 passengers died in the original crash, I highly recommend re-watching the finale with a notebook and a pause function. The funniest part of the finale, for me personally as a viewer, was when Smokey/Locke was shot. I cheered and then they panned up to Kate then I said out loud, "Bwuh?" Yeah, in six seasons I HAVE NEVER CHEERED FOR KATE! In fact, going into the finale, I was hoping for her gruesome bloody death. Her character drove me nuts.

There were a lot of tears with all the timeline 2 reunions. I started thinking that the alt-universe was not what I thought it was when people started remembering their own deaths. I also SO called that Jack's ex was Juliet. B-but who is their son? David makes no sense to me. How can you have a child in the afterlife? The beginning of the church scene started clue-ing me in thanks to the stained glass window. I thought, "Wow, that's every symbol of a major religion. I wonder if that's some hippie CA church? I would totally join." When I figured out that everyone was dead ( a millisecond before Jack), I gasped and started bawling. I loved the alt-universe so much it really felt like a plane-load of my friends just died.

I'd also like to thank my brother for getting me back into the show. I watched it for the first two seasons but stopped because I was fed up with the mysteries and the feeling that the writers were making shit up as they went along. My brother, in his brilliance, fought that prejudice by showing me a marathon of seasons 3 - 5. Amazingly, shown that way, the show made sense and was riveting! This past season 6, we had fun texting each other on Tuesday nights. Thank you Lost for the thrill ride.

Google Maps Has Gone Insane

Remember way back when Mapquest used to be the go-to directions site? That is until it started sending drivers in circles and down dead ends... Thank goodness there was google maps. Now, unfortunately it seems like google maps is breaking down. I give you the example above where google maps seemed to think a spiral is a better way to get to point B rather than a straight line.

I can't count the numbers of times that google maps sent me driving aimlessly in the wrong direction. Luckily, it happened enough to realize the problem isn't me, it's google maps. Now I rely on my road maps in my car and use google maps just to get a drive time estimate. Is there another site out there that works for directions or should I just break down and get a gps gizmo?

And Now the End is Here and So I Face the Final Curtain

Tomorrow is my last day at this job assignment. I have to admit that I am sad to go but am really grateful for the past five weeks. Not only do I appreciate the money, I appreciate feeling like a good worker, I appreciate the routine, and the great people I met along the way. I enjoyed the work so much, I did not dread going to work on Mondays. It also helped that Au Bon Pain and Dunks was on the way to my office. Oh yeah, my coffee addiction has been kicked into high gear!

My boss took me and a co-worker out to lunch today as a thank you. How classy is that? Seriously, I have never had a temp job where I have been treated with so much respect and generosity ever! At my other temp jobs, I was treated like a piece of gum on someone's shoe. At this temp job, I was given office supplies my first day. At other temp jobs, I had to beg for pens!

What's on the horizon now? I have calls into the various agencies that are working with me to find my next gig. I also applied for a full-time job here. I have health insurance kicking in May 13 and I'm going to use that up like any good hypochondriac should! Doctors appointment - check. New therapist - I've narrowed a list down to 3.

Also, I got The Sims 2 expansion pack Open for Business. Now I have every expansion pack up to Seasons. So far, I am really enjoying Open for Business. Most of my businesses are doing well but getting a restaurant on its feet is hellacious! I haven't tried opening a clothing store yet. It should be interesting. So, I have that keeping me entertained.
